"Absolutely amazing stay. My only critique is they are fairly strict about bookings and checkout times without much room for flexibility (understandable.) But that's it. Me and my girl had an amazing time. We stayed in Janes room in the castle for me and my partners anniversary and are already talking about coming back to visit again. The castle has so much character and charm, while also being immaculately upkept and cleaned. The gentleman who greeted me had amazing energy and gave me a grand tour as well as information about all of the amenities including the pool, and the free bike rentals for offer to guest, as well as the best complimentary breakfast I've ever had. Best stay I've had in the outer banks from someone who has stayed at nearly every town from Ocracoke to Duck. My recommendation is wake up early, enjoy your breakfast out on the raised water dock out front which is open to guest, and use the bikes to explore the island!"

"This unique, listed hotel is a delight. Managed by an Oxford University graduate, it features 3 floors of unique rooms. The hotel includes a very generous breakfast of eggs, bacon, croissants, and coffee to guests. We loved it."

We were able to control the temperature easily (even freezing ourselves out at times) and we had a great view of the harbor. Breakfast beginning at 8:00 is a little late for those wanting to get an early start or for those wanting to catch a ferry. Maybe 7:30 would be a little better. Some items are grab and go. Cooked foods could come a bit later. Overall, excellent breakfast!"

"My first bed and breakfast trip and now I’m obsessed. - The location was fabulous. The property felt safe and inviting. It was like a cross of a night in a museum and visiting a rich friend in a home I would never be able to afford. The breakfast was great. Perfectly cooked bacon and eggs. The staff was also incredibly sweet. We were beat out of the bike opportunity even at 5am. Not really sure how that happened. I feel like a longer stay would’ve had more chances."

"I highly recommend mid-April and The Castle! - Wonderful breakfast with a delightful preparer who was eager to please and do anything she could to make us comfortable and happy. Our room was near the kitchen, but it was very quiet before we arrived at the dining room. We would gladly return there. I have been to Ocracoke several times. "The only complaint is that we booked through expedia. We showed up to find the staff decided to leave before the times listed on their site. We had no key, no way to check in and no one would answer either phones. Finally after about an hour and having to leave to catch the last ferry so we weren't stranded on the island with no where to stay, we got a call back. They said they did not book through third party sites and we had difficulty sorting it out. It ended with them telling us where we could access a key to a room, who knows if it's the one we paid for or not. The property listed a sauna, pool, etc. Although we weren't given any information on the amenities or where to find them or if they were even open. The property was clean, the bed in our room was broken and slanted down, we had to fix it to be able to use it. We were told someone would meet us the next morning, no one ever came. Property was beautiful. Staff needs some work. Breakfast was great and the lady who cooked was very sweet. Be sure to book through the actual company instead of through a third party to avoid the mess we went through!"

"Weekend Getaway - Stayed two nights in March, great place for romance. I have traveled a lot, this was my first time at a B&B. Amazing homemade breakfast, midnight snacks available, and refrigerator in the rooms. There are bikes for use, pool, the spa is walking distance, pool table, games, books, and view near rooftop, and walking distance to all of the restaurants. Unfortunately, we went when almost every place was closed due to the season. We enjoyed our time."

"Great place to stay! - It was our first B&B, so we didn't know what to expect. The Castle is a Beautiful older house overlooking the bay. We enjoyed widows walk (roof deck) where you can sunbath or watch the sunset next to the lighthouse. We also watched the rise of the Super moon from there. Our room was comfortable and quiet and we had full use of the entire house comon spaces 24/7. The staff want out of their way to make us feel at home. Breakfast was great!!"

""The Castle B&B" - Enjoyed sitting around the dining room at breakfast listening to all of the stories being told by the other guests. Some were about their travels around the world, some were about their time(s) on Ocracoke Island, but all were wonderful images of life. I espceialy enjoyed the close proximity to Silver Lake, with the amazing views of the lighthouse and extremely colorful sunsets.The "Castle" has a viewing area on the top of the B&B, where you can sit and enjoy fresh breezes and sights and sounds of the Silver Lake area. You can walk to the wharf area, where there are many resturants, art galleries,and places to shop. The Castle is seeped in history, as it was one of the oldest structures to be built on Ocracoke. The decor is wonderful, antiques every where, and just comfortable in every way possible. And there are several rooms (and porches) where you can go to read or be alone in silence. I took my coffee with me and just for a few minutes enjoyed the solitude and comfort of the sounds coming from the bay. "Ronnie Ciccone - Innkeeper" is accomodating, friendly, insured that I knew where everything was located within the B&B, gave me a tour of the B&B when I arrived, and just was nice to talk to (and ask lots of questions about the area). As you can tell, I enjoyed the place very much and plan on coming back."

"Excellent B&B. Private rooms with bath - This is a very large rambling house with lots of quirky nooks, hallways, decks and 4 or 5 different floors. Rooms are real wood panels, beautiful antiques and paintings. Great place to stay and relax. "
